Favourite Summer Scents

I love fresh, sweet and fruity summer scents so i thought i would pick out four of my favourites which i will defiantly be taking to America with me and wearing this summer.

Fresh
These three Fresh perfumes are my favourite scents of all time. I wear them all year round and always stock up on them when i go to Sephora in America. Words can not even describe how amazing the smell of these perfumes are. They smell really clean and sweet which remind me of the Jo Malone fragrances which i also love.

Dot by Marc Jacobs
Next is Marc Jacobs Dot perfume. I was first drawn to this because of the cute little bottle to be honest but i absolutely love the smell of this perfume too. It has a beautiful summery scent which is a combination of red berries, dragon fruit and a hint of jasmine which is perfect because i always love fruity smelling fragrances.
Victoria Secrets body sprays
I always love to spray on Victoria Secrets fragrance mists on in the summer because they smell so sweet and fresh, plus they are long lasting! (My favourite has got to be the cherry and vanilla scent, it literally smells like you could eat it).

Bath & Body Works anti-bacterial hand gel
Last of all are these beautiful sweet scented hand gels from Bath & Body Works. Unfortunately Bath & Body Works is not in the UK but i know they are always being sold on Ebay for really cheap. I picked five of these hand gels up last year because i am a bit of a germ freak and like to keep them in my bag everywhere i go. However whilst i was on holiday i kept thinking one day what the nice smell was and it was these! the scent lasted for ages and smelt incredible (My favourite has got to be 'Caribbean escape' which has a very tropical holiday scent- it's sort of a mixture of coconuts, mango's and pears)
Do you have any favourite summer scents? xx

OOTN: Black/ Neon Yellow and JC Litas

Leather jacket: Topshop|| Jeans: Topshop Leigh Jeans|| Top: Zara|| Belt: H&M|| Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Litas|| Bag: Zara|| Jewellery: All Tiffany & Co and Pandora.

Hello lovlies, Hope you are all well. sorry about the rubbish quality of this ootn but i thought i would start posting a few more ootd's/ ootn's seen as i haven't put up any outfit posts in a while. This was an instagram photo because i find it a really quick way to upload on to here (plus it will be an easy way to upload outfit posts in America :D ) but i will be posting some better quality outfit posts soon :)
Moving on.. i have been really loving wearing my Jeffrey Campbell Litas again recently, i didn't wear them for so long but i love pairing them with the Topshop black Leigh jeans or the American Apparel black Easy Jeans. Plus i am still loving all black as you can probably tell (which is actually a summer 2013 trend so i don't feel as bad packing lots of black clothes to Florida now haha). I have been pairing simple black pieces with neon yellow accessories recently because i am absolutely in love  with the black and neon combo at the minute!
What Summer trends are you loving this year? :)

Alpha-H Liquid Gold Review

Hi everyone, I'm sorry i haven't been posting on here as much recently, i have just had so much uni work to finish before i go to America but i really wanted to update you on the Alpha H Liquid Gold which i mentioned i bought in a recent haul post. I have been using this product every other night for two weeks now and i can defiantly say i have noticed a difference in my skin.
So first of all, I have been thinking of buying the infamous Alpha-H Liquid Gold for soo long now but the £31.50 price tag put me off as i didn't want to spend that much and then find out it is one of them over hyped products. However i thought i would treat myself to it off the Cult Beauty website (being on crutches is very bad for my online shopping cravings) as i really wanted to try out a glycolic acid skin treatment.

So basically Alpha-H Liquid Gold is a night serum which includes Glycolic acid to renew cell production. Gycolic acid is a "chemical exfoliant" so it gently exfoliates skin, without the use of harsh sand/ beads, to dissolve dead skin cells. The harsh sand like scrubs are known as"physical exfoliants" but i prefer to use chemical exfoliants as they are much softer on the skin and i always feel they work better on my skin.
I try and use the Liquid Gold every other night after cleansing my face with the Origins Checks and Balances cleanser. I simply apply the Alpha- H on to a cotton pad and then pat it on to my face like a toner.

What it says in the description:

"Alpha-H Liquid Gold is a silky night serum which is instantly absorbed by cell membranes, restoring a golden glow too even the most lack-lustre skin. Revitalising and firming in just one application, this lotion helps tackle hyper-pigmentation, acne, fine lines and large pores, reversing some of the symptoms of ageing and sun damage-like having a facial in your sleep."

I defiantly agree that the liquid gold restores a 'golden glow' to the skin, it has left a natural highlight to my face (I have especially noticed a glow on my cheek bones) and I noticed this after just one use of the product which is amazing. It has also left my skin feeling and looking very clean, less congested, and extremely soft. However i have a small scar on my forehead and i haven't noticed any difference with that up to now, but i have only been using the product for two weeks so hopefully i will notice a difference after a few more weeks of use.
Overall i am so happy i bought the Alpha H Liquid Gold in the end, it is a pricey product but it is very rare that i really notice a difference after just one use of a product so this really impressed me and i defiantly think it is worth the money (also you don'd need to use much so it will last for ages). My skin is feeling softer then ever now and i love the healthy glow it gives. I would recommend the Liquid Gold to anyone who feels they need a skin 'pick me up' or wants to treat them selves to a bit of a 'at home' treatment.
Have you tried this product out or have any other recommendations? What skin care products are you loving at the moment? :)
P.S: Elle Magazine is giving away a free mini version of my favourite mascara this month: The Benefit 'They're Real' :)

NOTD: Sally Hansen 'Coral Reef'

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a good weekend! I thought i would share some pictures of Sally Hansen 'Coral Reef' from the Xtreme Wear line today (which i mentioned in my last haul post). Coral Reef is a stunning bright bubble gum pink color. It is definitely one of my favourite coral nail polish shades, i especially love wearing it in the summer against a tan. I bought this shade off Ebay but i know they sell it in America because i bought a bottle a while ago from Walmart. The formula for this polish is great, It applied really smooth and was opaque in two coats. It has a really nice gel like shiny finish which i absolutely love. As for the 'Xtreme wear' title, i think it did wear well but i found that it does peel off easily in warm water. What do you think of this colour? What are your favourite colours for Summer?
p.s: I am having a massive clear out before i go to America so i am going to be selling lots of items and cheap prices on my ebay here if you are interested :) I will be putting up more items this week xx

Beauty Haul

Hello everyone, hope you are all having a good week. Sorry i haven't been posting on here as regular recently, i have had lots of uni/placement work to do and i have also been sorting out my us visa (yay!) but i am back now with a small haul of a few bits which i picked up this week :)
I have been thinking of buying the Alpha H Liquid Gold for ages now because i loved the sound of trying out a Glycolic Acid treatment. I finally ordered it off the Cult Beauty website last week because i was feeling sorry for myself with my bad ankle haha. I have already noticed a difference in how soft my skin feels so i will be posting a review in a couple of weeks once i have used it more.

I went in to Boots last week to buy the Maybelline eyebrow pencil in Dark blonde which i absolutely love. I really wanted to try the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil in Ash Blonde but i might just stick to this Maybelline pencil now. It is the perfect colour for my brows, lasts all day, and for £2.99 it is an absolute bargain!
I also thought i would try out the Rimmel translucent powder. I never usually wear powders but i thought i would give this a try in America seen as i will be working long hours and will want my foundation to last all day.
The next item i picked up in Boots is the Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz. I have been using the Lush Tea Tree water for a while but i think i prefer this toning spritz more. I spray it on my face after cleansing with the Origins Checks and Balances cleanser and it makes my skin feel really clean and refreshed. I also want to try the Caudalie Beauty Elixor soon, have any of you tried it? :)

I also bought another bottle of Essie's 'Sey Psyched' nail polish. I rarely finish nail polishes because i'm always wanting to try out new colours but 'Sey Psyched' is one polish which i will buy over and over again. It is a beautiful creamy army green shade a with a very slight shimmer. I always think it looks gorgeous with a tan and silver jewelry.

The second nail polish is Sally Hansen 'Coral Reef' which i ordered off Ebay last week with a voucher i had. I bought this polish about two years ago now but i left it in New York last year so i thought i would repurchase it as it is the perfect bright summer coral colour.

I have also ordered a few bits to take to Florida with me but i will be posting a separate Florida haul nearer the time i go :) xx

NOTD: Maybelline Color Show 'Born with it'

I first spotted the latest Maybelline nail  polish line 'Color Show' early last year in America when i picked up this colour 'born with it' and also 'Pink Shock' which is a gorgeous bright pink (perfect match to Mac's 'Girl About Town' lipstick). This range really stood out to me as it contains a huge variety of unique, eye-catching shades perfect for summer, so i was so happy when i saw the range come to the UK!
'Born with it' is a light milky pink shade which really reminds me of OPI's 'Care to Danse' and my all time favourite Bourjois 'Rose Lounge'. I prefer to wear pinky neutral shades rather then beige toned neutral polishes because they seem to suit my skin tone much better. I actually reach out to these light pinks more then some of my bright colours because i love how elegant, clean and simple they make your nails look.
I love the formula of these polishes because they are neither too thick or too thin, leaving a nice finish. They retail for £2.99 in the UK which is a great bargain considering the huge colour range and formula, and i'm sure they retail for about $2.99 in the US which is even better. I did need to use three coats here for it to be opaque which can leave it looking slightly bumpy if you look really closely, but for £2.99 i think this is range defiantly worth checking out. I love the look of 'Sugar Crystals' which is a sheer rose-coloured base with very fine hot pink glitter. I think this would look gorgeous on top of a bright coral shade in the summer.
Have any of you tried any of these polishes out? xx

Soulland x Babar

This is seriously the cutest collection i have ever seen. Does anybody else remember Babar being on tv? I used to absolutely love watching it so i was soo excited when i saw these amazing tops which Danish brand Soulland had brought out in their new collection. Their collection includes shirts, tops, and jumpers with little Babar and his family on. How cute?!?! I really love the simple white Babar top and the grey jumper! ohh this is making me really miss all the 90s kids tv shows :( r.i.p Sabrina, Hey Arnold, Arthur, The Wild Thornberrys, Kenan & Kell, Sister Sister, Recess.. okay i need to stop now, this has become a slightly random, emotional post and i best make a start on these uni essays at some point (I get distracted so easily when starting uni work, I started an hour ago and instead i am now watching Babar on youtube, i neeed some motivation)...
Hope you have all had a lovely weekend! :) xxx

H&M 'Blue My Mind'

Today i have on H&M's 'Blue My Mind' which is a gorgeous bright blue shade with a slight purple undertone. I never usually buy high-street brands own makeup (apart from Topshop's) because to be honest i always expect it to be crap quality. However 'Blue my mind' really stood out to me and seen as it was only £2.99 i thought i would give it a try. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing but i was completely wrong. This nail polish applied really well and it dried quickly too. I absolutely love the colour which i think is the perfect dupe for Nails Inc 'Baker Street' and Essie's 'Butler Please. I also think this shade will look stunning against a tan in the summer.
The lasting power isn't great; it wasn't on par with the higher end polishes but for £2.99 you can't really go wrong. However it is defiantly one of them polishes which peel off as soon as it hits water so i recommend painting your nails after you have had a bath/shower.
I think i may have to go and choose a few more H&M nail polishes now, they do a wide range of colours to choose from. I have the silver glitter which is stunning on the tip of the nails (which i have posted here and here) and i really like the look of 'check me out' which is a stunning coral shade and 'Lindalicous' which is a bright orange.
I also tried a glitter accent nail with 'Blue My Mind' (below) Here i decided to use this Tokidoki nail polish in 'Latte' which i bought from Sephora last year but i have seen them on Ebay and Amazon recently too. You can see this glitter polish properly here but it is basically a unique mix of blue glitter and pink and holographic bar glitter.

I hoped you liked this post and let me know if you have you tried any of H&M's nail polishes or what your favourite shade is for summer? xxx

Wish List

Nike Free Run 3|| Zara Nude point heels|| Topshop Katz cut out boots|| Gap Boyfriend Jeans|| MAC Impassioned|| Marc by Marc Jacobs silver studs.

I am suffering from lack of shopping syndrome at this moment in time. I'm not really a big online shopper, i like to actually go out and try things on usually but seen as i will be on crutches for a while now i will just have to make do with my wish lists :p
First of all are these Nike Free Run 3's which are not going to be to everybody's taste but i have personally fallen in love with them. There is some amazing neon pink styles out at the moment but i love the simple black ones. I am going to need some sensible shoes to run around the parks in when i am working in Disney so i think these will be perfect! I would also pair them with some black skinny jeans, a white tee and a leather jacket.
I have the black version of these pointy heels from Zara which i absolutely love so when i saw the nude version i was soo happy! I love the style of these Zara heels, they just look so classy and really finish off an outfit nicely.
I know i have mentioned these boots on my blog before.. and i know they are sold out... buttt i just love them. I keep checking on the Topshop site to see if they have restocked them but no luck yet :( I am on a serious mission for these cut out boots.
I love a bright bold lip and really wanted a new shade to wear in the Summer. I usually wear Mac Vegas Volt in the summer if i'm going for a bright lip because it looks stunning with a tan but i think i might try Impassioned this summer. It is a beautiful warm toned coral pink shade which i can imagine looking gorgeous with gold toned eyeshadows in the summer.
I always wear skinny jeans usually (I especially love Gaps always skinny jeans because they fit my short legs) however i have recently been lusting over the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans. I love these 'Gap 1969 sexy boyfriend jeans' because they are tapered in well at the bottom with rips.. but not too ripped!  I would wear these with a simple tee and converse for a casual look, or dress them up a bit with the nude heels (above) and a nice blouse and printed blazer.
Last of all are these simple Marc by Marc Jacobs earrings. I dont know why but i really like flat simple silver earrings and these are just perrfect.
What do you think of these items?
Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Love Kerys xxx

Easter Nail Art

Nail Polishes used:

(L to R): Nails Inc 'Porchester Square', Essie 'Cascade Cool', Essie 'Bachelorette Bash', Rimmel Lasting Finish PRO 'Black Satin', Revlon 'Posh', American Apparel 'Army Jacket'.

Step 1: Apply a nude nail polish to three of the finger nails (I used Nails Inc 'Porchester Square') and then a bright pink to the index and thumb nail (here i used Essie 'Bachelorette Bash')
Step 2: Once the base coats have dried, apply two green shades to the nude nail polish nails, in light thin brush strokes. You need to start from the bottom of the nail to half way up wards. I used Revlon 'Posh' and American Apparel 'Army Jacket'.
Step 3: I then painted on the small flowers. You can choose whatever colour's you like but I always like to keep to a colour theme when i am doing nail art because i think it looks neater and more put together. Here i chose the same bright pink (Essie 'Bachelorette Bash') as used on the base in step one and then a lighter shade to the middle of the flower (Essie 'Cascade Cool')
Step 3: I then drew out the bunny shape with Nails Inc 'Porchester Square' and carefully coloured it in. Once this had dried i used Essie 'Cascade Cool' for the middle of the ears and the little nose. I then used Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro in 'Black Satin' for the eyes and whiskers.
Step 4: To finish off i painted the nails in my favourite Top Coat: Nicole by OPI top coat

...Happy Easter, hope you all have a lovely day! :) xxx

The Cut Out Boot

I have been lusting after a pair of cut out boots for a while now ever since the Balenciaga cut outs came out. They are are set to be a huge trend for Spring/Summer 2013. I just love how they bring a sense of 'effortlessly cool' to any outfit and can be paired with so many items. They would look gorgeous with a floral summer dress to add a bit of 'grunge' to the look or just put with some black skinny jeans, simple top and leather jacket! You can also make them look cute and pretty looking with some printed socks underneath popping through; i think they would look amazing with some metallic socks underneath.
There are so many styles out at the moment to suit everybody. I personally l-o-v-e the Topshop cut out boots in picture no.1 above but unfortunately they have sold out in my size, so i am keeping my fingers crossed that they will come back in stock?! I love the chunky Jeffrey Campbell cut outs too but i went on a bit of a chunky shoe craze last year with my underground creepers and JC litas so thought it was time to go with a more simple classic shoe which i can wear in the summer.
Unforunately i cant wear shoes for a while now until i am off these crutches, but i think I think the fact that i cant wear shoes at the moment is making me even more obsessed with looking at shoes, which i didn't think could be possible?! As soon as i am better i am off out to treat myself to some cut out booties!
What do you think of this trend? :)

Favourite MAC Eyeshadows

MAC Coppering: This is a beautiful burnt copper shade which really brings out blue eyes. It is not shimmery but it has the most beautiful metallic sheen to it. I either wear this on the lid with a black eyeliner or on the lid with mac lucky green on the bottom lash line which really makes the eyes pop and gives a stunning summer night look. I would have never gone for this shade a couple of years ago because i hated red and pink eyeshadows but this looks absolutely amazing on the lids and is by far one of my favourite mac eyeshadows.

MAC Amber Lights: This is a beautiful orange warm-toned gold eye shadow which has amazing pigmentation and a beautiful pearly sheen. It looks amazing mixed with other golds such as woodwinked and a brown shade in the crease. Amber lights is another shade which brings out blue eyes well (i usually go for bronze/gold/copper shades to go with my blue eyes). I wear this all year round with a nude lip and it also works well with a bright red lip too. I think it looks stunning on holiday with a tan for a very golden bronzed look.

MAC Lucky Green: This is quite a scary looking eyeshadow colour but it can look stunning when paired with the right shades. I never wear it on my eyelids alone but it does look gorgeous on the bottom lash line with shades such as mac woodwinked on the lid and then Mac Vegas Volt on the lips (one of my favourite summer looks). It is a vibrant green with a gold shimmer and a veluxe pearl finish which is amazing for when you want to add a pop of colour.

MAC WoodwinkedThis shade is defiantly at the top of my favourite's list. It is a beautiful easy to wear muted gold which is not too shimmery. It applies and blends amazingly on the lid and looks perfect with many other eyeshadows and lipsticks. It looks gorgeous with a tan on holiday. I like to wear it on the lid with Mac nylon in the inner eye duct area, mac satin taupe on the bottom lash line and a matte brown on the crease which creates a very 'Scarlette Johanason' inspired eye look. This eyeshadow looks more like a coppery gold on the lid then it does in the pan which again looks stunning with blue or green eyes.

MAC Soba: i like to use this as a subtle crease colour with mac omega all over the lid. It just creates a very natural defined eye. It also looks nice all over the lid with a black flick eye liner, lots of mascara and a slightly darker brown shade in the crease. This is always my go to eye shadow when i am in a rush but want to add a little something to my eyes.

MAC Satin Taupe: This is quite a recent purchase but i have been wearing it none stop ever since i bought it. It looks gorgeous on the bottom lash line and outer eye corner with mac woodwinked on the lid. I then pair it with MAC Girl About Town which looks amazing together.

MAC Nylon: This is one eye shadow i literally could not live without. It looks like a very basic shade but it looks stunning in the inner eye duct area which i always wear to brighten my eyes up. I also wear it as a brow bone highlight as well which looks absolutely gorgeous. It is a beautiful golden-white frost which will always be a staple shadow in my makeup collection.

Beautiful Iris: I am more of a neutral eye shadow sort of girl but this vivid lavender shade looks beautiful on the bottom lash line with mac nylon in the inner corner and mac soba on the lid for when you want to brighten up your eyes in the morning. I think it is a bit too vivid to wear all over the lid for me because i don't really suit purple toned eye shadows and lipsticks but it is defiantly a lovely bottom lash line shade. I also love how smooth it is to apply and how it instantly lightens up blue and green eyes.

What are your favourite MAC eyeshadow shades? :) I love the look of all that glitters at the moment too?
P.S sorry this post has taken a while to upload, i fell down the stairs on sunday night right on to my ankle that i hurt in my car crash the other week so i have been in hospital and now on crutches! not having much luck with this left side haha, luckily i should be fully better by the time i go to Florida though :) Hope you are all having a lovely week! Love Kerys xxx

Favourite MAC Lipsticks

MAC Hue; Hue is my favourite nude lipstick ever. It is the perfect nude for my skin tone without being too light. It is defiantly a staple in my collection as it so easy to wear and looks amazing with a dramatic eye or when i just want a more natural day time look. It is a glaze so it is moisturising on the lips but Hue is also very pigmented. It is great for day or night, and gives you that sexy Brigitte Bardot look.

MAC Lady Gaga VIVA Glam pink: This is a sold out limited addition lipstick but i thought i would include it because i know you can still buy it at some outlet stores and on Ebay. It is a bright blue based pink lipstick with a lustre finish so the pigmentation isnt as strong as other MAC lipsticks but it is very moisturising and build-able  This lipstick doesn't suit my skin tone when worn alone as it washes me out and i really didn't like it when i first bought it to be honest. However i have started wearing it under buxom lip gloss in 'bunny' now and i absolutely love the look it creates. The lip gloss tones down the brightness slightly and give you a stunning glossy pink lip. I would then pair this with a black flick gel eyeliner and lots of mascara. Although i like pairing it with lip glosses i wouldn't buy this lipstick again.

MAC Creme Cup; Creme Cup is a light pink shade that feels very soft and moisturising. I didn't really like MAC Creme Cup at first because it can look quite 'chalky' on the lips. However i find that it looks gorgeous with a pink lip gloss over the top paired with MAC Soba eye shadow (and MAC Nylon in the inner eye corner) and lots of mascara.

MAC Vegas Volt: Vegas Volt is a bright coral with an orange tone. It is an amplified fish so it is glossy and highly pigmented. I love wearing this in the summer because it looks stunning with a tan and it is a great way to wear a bold lip whilst being a bit different and not using the usual red or bright pink. I like to wear this lipstick with a neautral eyeshadow and mascara in the summer, and i also love wearing it with MAC Woodwinked on the top lid and MAC Lucky Green smudged under the eye with mascara.

MAC Girl About Town; This is my favourite pink lipstick of all time, i absolutely love it. It looks absolutely stunning with MAC Nylon eye shadow in the inner corners of the eyes, MAC Satin Taupe in the outer corners and smudged underneath the eyes and a flick of black gel eyeliner with lots of mascara.
Girl About Town is a bright blue tone pink which seems to suit my skin tone so much better then pale lighter pinks. This lipstick wares well for hours, staying vibrant and bright. It feels slightly creamy when you first apply it but then becomes a bit more dry after a couple of hours. It is such a fun, girly colour and i would definitely repurchase it.

MAC Lady Danger: This is my favourite red lippy of all time and i will be repurchasing this for the rest of my life. It is the perfect bright yellow toned classic red which i think would suit any skin tone. It is a matte finish but it doesn't look to heavy or dry on the lips. It looks so classy and is defiantly my favourite go to red all year round. It looks gorgeous with a neutral eye shadow base, black eyeliner on the top lid and mascara for a pin-up/ Marilyn Monroe look.

(Lady Danger, Girl About Town, Vegas Volt)

(Sorry about the lighting here, i dont know why my hand looks so pink :s but Hue is on the right which is my favourite nude and then Lady Gaga VIVA Glam pink and Creme Cup on the right )

What do you think of these colours? I would love to know if you have any favourite MAC lipstick shades too? I will be posting a favourite MAC eyeshadows this week as well :)
